Bach to Basics was founded in 2015 by Shruti Kuruvilla, a banker and Trinity-graded pianist, on the belief that anyone can learn and love music. She saw few Indian schools making western classical music fun for young learners, so she built one. Today our online lessons reach students worldwide.

We teach piano, vocals and guitar to older children and adults through personalised programs, and run playful group lessons for under-sixes spanning Carnatic, Hindustani, Western classical and African drumming.

Exams are optional. Ninety percent of our students who take Trinity College London exams earn distinctions, but our twice-yearly recitals are the truer measure of growth.

Our teachers are formally trained musicians from institutions like KM Music Conservatory and Middlesex University, and some have collaborated with A.R. Rahman. Each adapts lessons to the individual student.
